Crystal Mill located near Marble, Colorado. It is one of the most photographed scenes in the state and has been on our bucket list for some time. The mill served as a power plant for the nearby Tunnel and Mining Company, and was initially built in 1892 with a horizontal waterwheel that would generate compressed air for the Sheep Mountain miners, The mill was in operation until 1917.

When driving from Ridgeway to Ouray, Colorado, you can't help but notice this huge and beautiful American flag located near the highway. It's in a large open field with no distractions and with the the majestic San Juan Mountains as a backdrop. It was installed by the family in memory of Louis and Lena Weber, who purchased the cattle ranch in 1951. The ranch has raised five generations of family in Ouray County.
The flag is a massive 30'x60' (1800 sq. ft.). The pole to which it is attached is 101-feet tall and is a monumental reminder and symbol of the freedom we enjoy in this country.
