Starting the necessary walk through the streets of Essoyes to get to the Renoir house.

The flower covered bridge spanning the gentle stream that leads to the village.

I really like this image. As we walked through the quaint village of Essoyes following signs to the Renoir house, we suddenly were greeted by this huge enlargement of one of his painting on the side of this building. This in addition to the old architecture of the surrounding structures add to the appreciation of his art.

Another view of one of the Essoyes streets.

In 1896 the Renoirs purchased a home in the town, and ten years later Renoir built a studio at the far end of the garden. And until 2012, Renoirs continued to live in the house.

The living room.

The kitchen.

The bedroom. Notice the familiar (Janet's) reflection in the mirror. I didn't realize this until I got home.

Copies of three of his paintings on the wall.

Another one of his famous paintings.

The outhouse.

Child carrier??

For this you would need a pusher and a rider.

Paint on the floor of Renoir's studio. (When you make great paintings, perhaps it doesn't matter where the excess paint lands).
